Ellie Child wins Big Sky title; Women 2nd, Men 3rd

MOSCOW, Idaho Senior Ellie Child cruised to individual honors at the 2016 Big Sky Cross Country Championships, winning the race by nearly 10 full seconds over Eastern Washington's Sarah Reiter. lt;br />Child finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 17:13.7. lt;br />Senior Hailey Whetten finished third with at time of 17:29.0, with the Wildcats coming up just short of repeating as league champions with 60 points. lt;br />Northern Arizona won the race with 48 points. lt;br />Candace Sharp finished 13th overall (18:08.3), Alice Neville was 20th (18:19.4), and Paige Dilmore was 23rd with a time of 18:22.7 as the Wildcats' final scoring runner. lt;br />Northern Arizona, the nation's top-ranked team, won the men's team title with a perfect 15 points, followed by Southern Utah at 48. The Wildcat men finished third with 92 points. lt;br />The Wildcat men were led by Jordan Cross who finished 13th with a time of 25:06.6. Dallin Leatham finished 15th at 25:09.1, followed by Luca Sinn at 20th (25:39.8), Jason Kearns at 21st (25:39.8), and Tyson Green at 23rd (25:44.2) as all five scoring runners placed in the top 23 for Weber State.
