Men's Cross Country 15th In Midwest Region

NEW ORLEANS Eastern Illinois men's cross country remained ranked 15th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional poll released on Monday as the Panthers will send select runners to the Illini Open this Friday before competing in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 29 in Nashville. EIU placed fifth out of 27 teams in a competitive field at the Bradley "Pink" Classic on Friday afternoon. The Panthers were led by senior Paxson Menard who placed ninth in the race posting a new personal best 8K time. Riley McInerney was 13th and Tyler Yunk 29th for the Panthers who finished behind Saint Louis, Windsor, Lamar and Notre Dame in the meet. Oklahoma State was ranked first in the Midwest Region followed by Iowa State, Tulsa, Bradley and Minnesota in the top five. South Dakota State climbed to sixth with Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas in the top ten. Wichita State was 11th followed by Saint Louis, Nebraska, Iowa and Eastern Illinois in the top 15.
