Monmouth won the annual “Battle of the Birds” by a healthy margin this year at the NEC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Hawks finished with 162.5 points, while the runner-up LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds managed 100. The team result marks the 12th year in a row that either Monmouth or LIU Brooklyn has captured the NEC Indoor crown. The Hawks’ latest win pulls them even with the Blackbirds at six titles apiece.
