Yale men s cross country team junior Kevin Dooney entered Friday s NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championships with high hopes after finishing 11th overall at last year s Regional meet. Dooney easily met those expectations on Friday at New York City s Van Cortlandt Park, cruising to a third-place overall finish with a time of 30:30.2 in a deep and talented field of the best runners from across the region. He finished one second behind second-place finisher Benjamin Connor (a Providence senior) and four seconds behind first-place finisher Jake Byrne (an Iona senior).
