CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Forty-eight America East student-athletes, including eight University of Maine Black Bears, have been named inaugural America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes. Approved by the America East Board of Presidents last June and implemented for the 2013-2014 academic year, the Presidential Scholar-Athlete award recognizes graduating student-athletes who compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher as an undergraduate student.
