EUGENE, Ore. -- Sophomore middle distance runner Ryan Schnulle ignited the Hayward Field crowd Friday on the third day of the NCAA Track & Field Championships with his NCAA runner-up performance in the 800m with a new PR of 1:46.29, the third-fastest 800m in Florida history.

Schnulle positioned himself to challenge the leader with 200m to go and created a thrilling dash down the home stretch, resulting in just a .03 difference between Mississippi State’s Brandon McBride (1:46.26) and himself (1:46.29) for eight second-place points towards Florida’s 28 team points and second-place standing entering the final day of competition Saturday.

Gator sprinters Antwan Wright, eighth in the 100m (10.24, +1.8), and Najee Glass and Hugh Graham, Jr., fifth (45.63) and eighth (46.65) in the 400m, also contributed a combined six All-American points to the team tally after finals of the two races.
