 The lid is off of the indoor track & field season. The NEC Indoor Championships don t commence until mid-February, but a number of athletes appeared to be in championship form this past weekend. A pair of distance runners claimed the season s first NEC Track Athlete of the Week awards. On the men s side, Mount St. Mary s half-miler Kody Wilson ran an IC4A Championship qualifying time in the 800m at the Navy Lid-Lifter. The 2013 NEC Indoor Women s MVP Brianna Castrogivanni opened her senior season by winning the 5K at the Yale University Season Opener with more than 24 seconds to spare.
