Men s basketball junior Steven Spieth and women s track & field sophomore Clare Peabody have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 25-31, Brown announced on Monday.

Sophomore Clare Peabody (Aptos, Calif.) set a new school record in the 1,000 meters as the Brown women s track & field team competed at the BU Terrier Classic Friday at the Track & Tennis Center.

The Brown men s and women s track & field teams returned to action on Friday at the Joe Donahue Games hosted by Northeastern University at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

The Brown men s indoor track & field team finished runner-up at the Harvard Beantown Challenge, while the women s side placed fourth overall, as the two programs returned to action over the weekend.

The Brown men s and women s track & field teams opened the 2016 calendar year at the 34th annual Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, along with several regional programs at the non-scoring meet.
