Increased targeting aims for better coverage of American sports

Thirteen individuals and four relay teams from The American earned All-American honors during the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

23 individuals and five relay teams from The American qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division I National Championships, which will be held June 11-14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

It was a championship Sunday for the SMU women and the Houston men, as the squads claimed the 2014 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

After a day full of eight field events, the conclusion of the heptathlon and decathlon, and two 5,000 meter finals, SMU and Louisville held onto the lead entering the final day of competition.

On a rain hampered day in south Florida, six individual titles were awarded during day one action at the 2014 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. SMU leads on the women s side, while Louisville leads on the men s side.

Conference teams will descend upon Tampa, Fla. this weekend for The American s inaugural Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be hosted by USF.

Houston s Yonas Tesfai, Rutgers Corey Crawford, UConn s Taylor Anderson and Cincinnati s Erika Hurd were honorees in the final awards of the Outdoor Track and Field season.
