Freshman Sashane Hanson and senior Philipp Baar won Southland Conference individual titles as the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track & field teams continued competition at the championship meet Saturday at the Dugan Family Stadium.

Senior Philipp Baar highlighted Sunday s final day at the Southland Conference Championship with a third place finish in the 5,000 meters, bringing his total on the weekend to 16 points after winning the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Saturday.

The Southland Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet rotates its location among the member schools and for the first time since constructing the Dugan Family Track & Soccer Stadium, the championship will be held on the Island.

In the second to last meet before the Southland Conference Championships to be held in Corpus Christi in May, the Islanders track & field team traveled to Houston to take part in the J. Fred Duckett Twilight at Rice.
